Great week in the mission field

Hey Everyone!

GOOD NEWS! Jesus is going to be baptized this Saturday! We're very excited for this and he is so prepared and so ready. And I can't wait to see all the blessings that will come flooding in and the way his life continues to change and be better after he recieves the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Not as good news! Isabel isn't. She was sick this past week and couldn't attend church, and so she doesn't have the attendences necessary to be baptized and also she's doesn't feel ready yet to be baptized becasue she hasn't been to church, so her baptismal date has been moved. We're going to try for next week, but we'll see. It depends on when she feels ready. She'll be baptized, it's just a matter of exactly what week at this point, But that's okay. I'm loving watching the way her life and her outlook on things has changed and when she feels ready, and maybe after watching Jesus be baptized she'll feel more ready, she will be baptized then.

Gabby's doing well. We had a super powerful lesson with her this week teaching her the first vision. We've been trying to get to the point and get to doctrine and concentrate in the doctrine this week more and the way we're teaching is improving really well as a result. Also, he kids are super cute. They've been praying for us in their nightly prayers and they call me the blonde one whose name is in english and they call Hermana Rubio the one whose name is blonde but isn't blonde. Completely precious. Kids are super awesome and super receptive to influence of the Holy Ghost, and it's been fun to watch Hermana Gabby be influenced by the way her children are reacting to the truth.

Fun things that happened this week - I learned how to make tortillas de arina this week, which is flour tortillas, and that was really fun to do. My tortillas looked horrible and I got flour everywhere but it was fun. We also contacted into a woman who has tiny baby bunnies and who insisted that we eat breakfast with her, so I got to hold little palm sized fluffy baby bunnies and then got fed a giant breakfast. And all this because we helped her sweep up the leaves in front of her house. The people here are amazingly generous with whatever they have.

The best news this week though is that I found chinese food in Mexico. Let's goooo. I mean, no this isn't really the best news of the week but it was pretty awesome, and we ate there today for lunch.

Anywsy, I love you all!
Con mi amor eterno,

Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
