The Blessings that Await

This week has been the hardest week in the mission so far, but it has built my testimony so much of how the Lord always blesses us through and after our trials, if we endure them well.

A lot of things contibuted to why this week was so hard - and its not really important why it was a hard week because this email isn't that kind of letter. This email, and what I want to share with y'all this week is how the Lord always makes up for whatever kind of trials we face, we just have to carry on through them while keeping our faith and our hope centered on the Lord. We can't give in, we can't just quit and walk away - we have to stand our ground, hold onto the rock of our testimony, and dare Satan to try to shake us from our foundation. It is our job to chase away the darkness from our lives and that means continously renewing reinvigorating our light and our testimonies. The little things we do each day are the things that will matter in the end - praying with real intent, attending church (and paying attention to the lessons there), and reading the Scriptures and more than just the scriptures, the Book of Mormon every single day. this is the way that we do this. And then we carry on, despite the things that are going on around us, and when we have perservered unitl we can't go farther, the Lord does the rest.

The end of this week was awesome. We had two different families who were able to come to sacrament meeting and attend church; the Lord lead us to people who have a lot of potential and I'm super excited to watch the Gospel of Jesus Christ change their lives and give them the strangth they need to persist through the hard parts of life; and more than anything, we were able to draw closer to the Lord as we have learned more and more how to rely on Him better and better. Pur Heavenly Father will not suffer that we face trials that we cannot handle nor will He abandon us by any means, and more than anythign He will always give more blessings that make up ofr everything we have ever faced. I'm incredibly grateful for the thigns I've learned so far in my mission and the thigns I've learned this week and I'm enjoyign whatching the Lord shape me into the person He wnats me to be.

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
