Thsi past month it has been slightly more complicated to bring investigadors to church, mostly because we had both general conference and stake conference, which means bringing all the investigadors on a 30 minute bus ride to Obregon and then from there, walking another 10 or so blocks, or having someone in the ward with a car pick them up and then making the drive to the stake center.. But, the Lord has been providing miracles through out all this month.
One of the goals of our zone this months is to provide more loving seguimiento. This means checking how everyone is doing every single day and providing support and encouragement in meaningful ways. One of the ways we have been trying to accomplish this task among other things is to send out group messages every single night to all of the investigadors and less active people that we are in contact with and remind them to read their scriptires and say their prayers in the night. And as we have been doing this, we decided to include one of the old investigadors who we had soem brief contact with as of two months ago, named Arturo. And as we've been sending out these messages of support and encouragement, he's occasionally responded, but hasn't said much. Then, Saturday night, after sednign out the message and then practically falling into bed, we recieved a message back from him that said something along the lines of "thanks! I'll see you at the conference tomorrow!"
We hadn't told him there was a stake conference. We hadn't invited him to church or even said anything about coming to church! How did he know there was stake conference? And he just, wanted to come?! We had been battling to arrange rides and convince investigadors (and have them recognize the Holy Ghost convincing them) that it was worth it to sit through what was basically a two hour sacrament meeting but without the ordinance of the sacrament in the crowded stake center in Obregon for the entire week! But, whenever I start to think that things aren't going to work out, or that I acn't go any further, the Lord alwasy steps in with a miracle.
When we are goign thrte entra mile and doing all we can to comlpete with the tasks the Lord has given us and the standards He has put, He truly does bless us with miracles. Sometimes they seem smiple and very easily explainable and it is alwasy so easy to take the credit and not give it to God, but theese little occurances are miracles. It is not me, or my companion, or a group text that has allowed this miracle to take place, but the Lord's hand as we turn the owkr over top Him.
I am so grateful that I am not doing this work alone because there is no way I could possibly handle that, and I testify that the Savior is right beside me and that as I walk this path that He is thre every step of the way, supporting me, loving me, and giving me the messages of love and encouragement.
I love this Gospel and I love this work.
Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings
