Huatabampo is amazing

Hi Y'all!

So, to answer your questions about Huatabampo. Yes, I am still in Sonora, just slightly more south and slightly (very slightly) less hot. It's a branch, but not a small one, Huatabampo is kind of a smallish city or a slightly large pueblo and then there's also the other pueblitos around it that are part of our area nad pretty much all of it is bikable - there's only a few pueblitos that we have to take a bus to reach. The members here are lovely, delightful human beings and are super awesome nad the church building is two stories which is cool.

To answer your questions about my bike. It is slightly too big for me - I have to stand on my tiptoes to touch the ground when I'm on the seat but it's a good bike. It's a really pretty deep jade color which, well, we all know I love that type of color and am therefore in love with my bike. It was slightly rough the first day or two biking, especially since my bike had a loose back tire and gear shift, but everything got fixed and is all good. Besides, after the first two days it was easier to adjust to riding becasue I was used to putting more energy into getting the bike to move, so it was a blessing in the end.

And to answer your questions about my copanion. Her name is Hermana Vasquez, she's from Panama, she's 23 and she's a short, fiery person who is alwasy going about doing good and who's accent is epic. And I am honestly learning so much from her. With bikes and with the layout of the pueblo the way it is, you kind of have to plan the day differently, so its been interesting to see how that works out and to watch the way she works and plans. She's also a really great teacher!

The investigadors we have right now are great , I'll tell you about a few of them.

Right now we're teaching an indigenoust eenager whose from Chihuahua comes from a pueblo where they speak the indigeous dialect, so it's been intersting, because she doesn't know a lot of spanish and so we're teaching her very simply and with lots of hand signals and photos. But, she's really bright and she's learning and understanding fast.

We also have a famly we are teaching who are just incredibly sweet nd who have a great desire to change. They've been through some hard times and they have their challanges to overome, but they have such a sweet spirit aout them. I'm really excited to watch them progress.

I honestly so excited to be in this area and I will repeat yet again, that I LOVE beign a missioanry. Absolutely love it. And its been amazign this week as I'm getting to know the area and the members to let the spirit guide me and to make more of an efort to be humble enought to let the spirit (and my companion) guide me in this new area dn this new chapter of my mission.

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
