Transferred to Huatabampo

Well, Transfers happened and unfortunately I couldn't stay in Esperanza for my entire misión. I am now serving in a branch called Huatabampo. It's about half an hour outside Navajoa and I'm still goign to working undernarth the Sonoran Sun. My companion's name is Hermana Vasquez. She is from Panama and is awesome nd we get to ride bikes together into the sunset but only until 9:30.

And as is my luck with new transfers I already have a story to share. Turns out, the door knob to the bathroom to the house here in Huatabampo is vaguely broken. Now this usually isn't a problem because the door sticks and you have to shut it hard and in the right way to get it to close all the way and so this is not a problem for most people. However, I am not most people so literally about five minutes after I had gooten my suitcases through the door, I accidentally shut the bathroom door all the way and in thee process aidentally shut and basically locked myself in the bathroom. Fve minutes and I already managed to get myself into a mess. About fifteen minutes later and after a lot of tries, the strenght of both mycompanion anad I, and beign very close to acciddentally destroying the door, w finally managed to yank the door open and I was free.

I am honestly very excitedf for this next six weeks and to have this opportunity to grow and learn more and also meet and know and teach more of God's children. In my personal studies this past week I have been Reading the accoutn of the misson of the Sons of Mosiah to the Lamanites in the Book of Mormon and readin gJesus the christ in the chapter talkign baout the preperatio of the twelve disciples a thte same time and wow, readin those togather is realyl powerful to see how they InterConnect and so much of it just wokrs together and ends up basicalyl outlining how should a missionary be. Yeah, that was powerful and also very humbling to read. I have a lot of faults and a lot of things to improve to be the missianry I want to be, but I know that if I humble myself before the Lord and allow Him to direct my path and to shape me into the person He needs me to be, that I can achieve these stadnards to be the type of missoanry and also the type of person I want to be when eventually have to come home and leave Mexico.

I think I say this almost every letter, but I really do love being a mssionary an I love this Gospel. It is my great pleasure to share this truth and theese blessing that I enjoy day by day and to do all that I can to help His children learn how wonderful it is that we can repent and move on and be perfeted one day.

ALSO, HAPPY SLIGHTLY LATE MOTHER'S DAY! MOM I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH AND I'M SUPER GLAD I WAS ABLE TO TALK TO Y'ALL.

Also, thank you for helping me to be obedient. It meantt a lot that you guys wanted me to be aware of the time and were willing to say goodbye when then time was up. You guys are amazing and I love you all so much.

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
