Crazy and good week

So this week was crazy. Absolutely crazy. But a good kind of crazy.

We were absolutely priviledged to witness the Baptism of Marina this Saturday. I think I mentioned a few weeks back that we had an investigador who is indiginoues from Chihuahua and is currently learning Spanish? This is Marina. WE've had the priviledge (and prehaps the challange) of teachign her these past three weeks and man, it has been interesting as we've had to simplify and repeat lessons and find the best way to communicate with her. And it definitely felt like I was teaching a lamanite because she had no idea who Jesus Christ was and we were taking a lot of inspiration from how the Sons os Mosiah taught King Lemuel and his father. But she has such a sweet spirit and it was so fun to watch hwen she understood and the light that would come into her eyes.

Because of the challenges in comunication, I was slightly worried if she would be able to answer the baptismal questions and express her testimony sufficienly to pass the interview. The day before her interview, we visited with her to review and prepare her for the next day. It also happened to be a day when I was not feeling on my game and was feeling a little bit down and I was prayign that day that Heavenly Father would help me forget myself and go to the work because I didn't want the way I was feeling to be a distraction. We began to review the baptismal questions with Marina and she was able to answer and express herself almost perfectly! It honestly seemed like a miracle and also like the Lord was answer my pleas, like He was telling me, "you're okay and everything will be okay, just keep pressing forward and doing good and you efforts will be rewarded." I can't tell you how much I needed to have that experience, and we left Marinas house wtih all the animo in the world and true enough, the next day she passed her interview wonderfully and this past Saturday, another child of God started on the path to come back to Him.

I am so incredibly grateful for all the blessings and little every day tender mercies that I get to see as a missionary and as a Daughter of God and I know I can never thank Him enough for all He has done for me.

On a slightly less spiritual note, we switched P-days this week so that e could have a super epic district activity. There's a city here closish to Huatabampo called Alamos and we took a small road trip there and back today. It's a charming old fashioned little Pueblo in the Sierra that feels like a weird mix between old fashioned, very sterotypical Mexico and an old European town with uneven tiny streets. But absolutely beautiful and I have already put it on my bucketlist to go back because we weren't able to go to a lot of the museums or enter the giant, super old cathedral or what is basically a castle fort thing.

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
