Hi Everyone!
Huatabampo is still as awesome as ever, but I'v been really feeling the heat this past week. Literally. I have no idea what temperature it actualyl is but the answer is hot. Very hot. I've had to really keep track of how much water I'm drinking because if not, it's so easy to get dehydrated and sick and if you're sick you can't work very effectively and I've found it harder to feel the Spirit when my body doesn't feel well, which is just proof the the Word of Wisdom is very true - when our bodies feel well we can be guided by the spirit much more easily.
This past week we've had the great oppportunty to literally watch how repentacne changes people. I mention a family last week who I said I had a lot of hope for - well, they have a lot of hope too. They are desperate for a way to move on in life and to change and become new people. Jesus, the father, has had a lot of stuggles in life and he has particularly struggled wtih drugs but is striving so hard to change and leave them behind. Right now, he has slightly more than a week clean from drugs which ahs also helped my testimony of the power of the Preisthood. Last Sunday, we visited the Valenzuelas after church to see how they were doing, and Jesus told us that he had just done drugs and that he felt like a Hypocrite. This lead to a powerful lesson about the power of the Atoning Sacrafice of Jesus Christ and at the end of the lesson, we called the Elders and they were able to give him a priesthood blessing. Right after the blessing, he looked at us and with hope shining in his eyes, he threw the rest of his drugs out. Every single time we have taked about the Atonement since, he has this absolute look of hope in his eyes that is always a blessing to see and the way he talks adn acts has also completely changed.
I don't know how strongly I an testify that the Gospel is true, the we can literally overcome all throguh the power adn grace of Jesus Christ, who is my Savior and Redeemer. He hears my prayers and He answers them despite the weaknesses of my flesh and I know He has sent me many miracles hrogh out my mission so far and so many just in thsi week alone. I wish I had the time and the space to tell them all, but I'll have to be satified with just sharign a few each week. I know the Book of Mormon is true, an I know it is truly another testament of Jesus Christ and a powerful witness that He lives and that He knows us presonally and individually and He has never forgotten us and never will. I am incredibly endebted to Him and although sometimes I feel so inadecuate to be doing this work and to be allowed to participate in the Gathering of ISrael I know He has called me to do this and I can't let Him down.
Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings
