Goodbye Ciudad Obregon Mission

Well, I have some news. Transfers have come and as these are the final transfers before July 1st, I will be staying in Sonora and will be part of the Misión México Hermosillo. It was quite sad to say goodbye to several firends and good missionaries, but I'm looking to what the future brings. And I get to be in a mssion with the temple. I also get to roast in the sun some more, so here's to gettign tan and gettign spiritually lit.

This past week, we saw a lot of miracles I was not expecting. There's a fmaily where the teenagers really want to be baptized and coem to church and everythign, but when they didn't have permission from their parents to be baptized. They've been comign to church since Febuary. This week we had the impression to ask their mom again to let them be baptized, and for the first time, this other let the missionaries share a lesson with her. And as we taught lesson one, the spirit began to speak to her, and she began to understand and feel the truth. After this, she gave girls permission to be baptized. They were so happy! Unfortunately, because there is always oposition, the father last minute, due to some outside influences, switched his mind, and they have to wait a little longer.} and it broke my heart, especialy as I watched all the fmaily circle these two girls and cry with them. But I can't help but think that maybe they'remeant to be baptized with more memebers of their family and this experiences opened the doors to teach several more members of the family.

Mia was baptized this Saturday. he's been doign so great, she reads the book of Mormon and her personal progress book during break time at school. She is such a wonderful example to her family nad such a bright young woman. I can't help but see a future missionary when I look at her.

I almsot forgot, we had transfers tody and I have a new companion. Her name is Hermana Gonzales, she from the state of Mexico, Mexico and she's super bubbly and sweet. I'm really looking forward to this tranfer!!

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana  Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
