La Barra de Hierro

Hey family!

How are you all? I'm sending you all my best wishes and my prayers.

This week we had a bucketload of conferences and interviews and intercambios, so I was basically not in Huatabampo for practically the entire week, but thrughout all of it I saw a lot of miracles this week.

First, although it's been... interesting? to make this change in mission and with al,l the difficulties that have come with mixign the two missions we have really been able to come together as a zone which is soemthign I wasn't expecting. And I have been learning, little by little, that when we have mercy towards others and as we keep our gaze fixed on the reason we are here serving - to invite others to come unto Christ - that we have been able to ingore others faults and disabiliies and become united in our purpose and our joy as we delcare glad tidings from the rooftops. I was really able to see that this past week in all of the juntas that we had and especially today, wen although it wasn't an official zone activity, we all got together to play fútbol y voleyball in the morning and had a really great time. The elders finally convinced me to try to lay fútbol with them, and this is the first time I've let myself be pulled into a gmae and it was really fun although one of the elders had a tendency to direct the ball in my direction and nail soempart of my body hahaha. At the end of it all, I don't know who had more fear when he had the ball, me of gettign hit or him, of accidenteally hitting me again hahaha.

This past week as well, with Presidnet Myers in the area, we had an actividad in the rama and we did an acitivty called the iron rod whcih biasically means everyone gets blind folded and lead out into the basketball court where ther's an "iron rod" strugn between the trees and posts and then tell me them to press forward. I had the chance to be one of the voices to guide those back to the rod who had listened to the tempters and had let themselves be lead away from the rod and it was really interestign to watch as some people immediately responded, some people took some time to let themselves be lead by the "vioces of angels" and others didn't listen at all. I also foudn that the easiest way for someone to not press forward was to press backwars, that is accidentally go in the opposite direction thanks to the vioces of the temptaciones and after soem refelction, i think its becaseu it was obvious that they had the iron rod or they were doign soemthign correct, and they thought they were doign everythign correct, but in reality they were puling themselves farther and farther from God. And how often we do this in our own lives - we let ourselves thibnk that we had the rod and we are following smoethign good but this good isn't actually guisgin us towards our loving Heavely Father, its guides us farhter away.

I testify that if we listen to the vioces of the porphets, the voices of those calledto guisde us and help us, we will be able to reach the finsih, to listen to the soft words of a loving Heavenly <Father and fall into His embrace.

I lvoe you all and pray that you all continue forward with faith and if you have lost your way from the rod, to start lixsten for the voice of the Spirit to guide you back to the word of God and His Love.

Con i amor eterno

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
