So many miracles

I am so grateful to be here in Huatabampo becasue I have seriously seen so many miracles in this area. One of these miracles was to watch Hermano Servando be baptized. We have been teaching him for over 6 weeks, if you may recall from previous emails and he finally comitted and cam to church about three weeks ago. But we couldn't figure out what was holding him back from being baptized becasue after comng to church, he was really excited to go to church every single Sunday from here on out and he had made some friends in the rama, and he had left smoking behind. And we brought the branch president and secretary with us and I was just praying for the spirit to guide and help us and it did. Somehow, in the middle of the conversation, Servando was able to finally voice his only concern with beign baptized - that he would have to quit his job and leave his mom and serve a mission. Now this a concern that sounds reasnable until I tell tha he is a 44 year old man who already has children and a family and is therefore not of the age where it's a commandment to serve a full time mission, but that was his concern. And that's something we would have never ever found out if the Spirit hadn't being guiding the whole lesson. After settling that doubt, he very eagerly committed to be baptized and was able to do so this Friday.

I know that I am doing nothign and I am useless in this work of Salvation if I am not lettign myself be guided by the Spirit. That is the only way that the children of God are able to really be converted and to come to know and understadn the Plan that God has for them an that is somethign that I have come to understand and perhaps am still coming to understand throughout my mission. I love beign a missionary and I love this gospel and I love you all.

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
