Oh Alamos adios pues adios

This week was really awesome. Really awesome. in district meetign about two weeks ago, we were talking about how hard we were working and all of us flet like we had been underperforming and underachevieving recently and we decided to set soem pretty epicly large goals for how har dwe anted to work these past weeks and the entire district really took it to heart and we gave it our all th3ese past two weeks and dang I am tellign you I have nevcer worked so hard in my mission nor have I eve thoguh it was possible to work so hard here but I am absoultely lovign it!!

This week, I also started Presdient Nelson's challenge to read the Book of Mormon befre the end of the year and decided to start outlinign and mark up a copy of it and I've never realyl been one to color and mark my scriptures too mcuh in the mission, especaily the ones I use in lessons I don't rreally know why but I've never really 100% loved it, but I'm very much enjoyign markign up the pages of this Libro de Mormon nad its been really interesting. Weird random study thoguht of the day comes from 1 Nefi 4 (creo?) where Nefi is goign to get the plates and he pretends to be Laban. I was reading and for some reason I thought, there are three options here, 1- Zoram the servant was not very familiar with how Laban's voice sounded, 2 - God blessed Nefi with a wicked ability to imitate voices or 3 - the Spirit was wrokign ridiculously hard in that moment to convince Zoram that it was his boss and to go get the plates. I don0t know which optimn is correct, but it sure made me laugh to think about it.  On a more spiritual note, I love what Nefi writes about the Book of Mormon, that he gives commandment unto his descendents to onyl write the thigns of God. I absolutely love that part.

Speakign of the Book of Mormon, today we went to Alamos (yet again) and we found atiny antiques store that we hadn't found before because it was hidden behind a very myuch for touruists t shirt shop with super chesey t shirts. WE went in, and they ahd a bunch of old books and I went YES and because I wasn't going to brign home a nicolas sparks bok or anything, I actually went looking to see if they had any old bibles, because I tought it would be kind of cool to bring an old mexican bible home and to my surprise I didn't find  abible, I FOUND A BOOK OF MORMON: the 1980 panish version befor ethey have the corss references to the bible and it sooooooooooooo cool! I was literally over the moon with joy and althogh the lady in the sotore wanted to sell it pricy after noticing how excited I got when I found it, she sold it to me for 50 pesos. Cheap. (althoguh book of mormon should not be sold, salvation is free everyone byut i'm permitign it this time because it was an antique) IT SO FREAKIGN COOL!

We also (unfortuntealy got back running from the activiy in lamos so i don't have my converter with me today so I can't sen dmore foots than the ones that one ofr the elders forwarded me, so you'll have to wait ti see my new book of mormon. I've got a collectoin now of like 14? In like 6 or more different languages? I don't know why but they're cool and weel, we all know how I am about books.

I love you all!!!

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
