And it's 2019. Terrifying.

So, fun fact, I read through the email I sent last week or the week before and realized how HORRIBLY typed it is, so I'm going to try to be better this week with spelling and all that jazz.

This week was fun. To answer your questions yes, I had to be home early for Año Nuevo, but only an hour early, not that bad, but as it was P-day it made it really awkward to teach a lot that day. But it was all good. We spent most of the night quickly puttign the finishing touches on a few thigns for the upcomign zone conference - one of which was a giant Book of Mormon that was filled with actual books of Mormon. (I don't have pictures, I'm sorry). And well, than we had Zone Conference an so we were only able to work again, like two hours which I was actually rather grateful for becasue the streets were filled with more parties and drinking than they were on New Year's Eve, so that was a tender mercy for me.

Honeslty, this week was full of tender mercies. Tons of small things, like how because of New Year's Eve, we weren't able to buy food for this past week. Luckily, we still had a few things left over (two oranges, yoghurt, and half a box of cereal I'm not even kidding I wish I was). And so, we just kind of settled into the fact that we were going to  waste a bunch of money buyign food in the Oxxo (imagine the store part of a gas station but without the actual gas station) or just kind of fastign the entire week nad literally every. single. day. someone gave us food and in between the food we still had in house and the food they gave us, we always had enough to eat. And it was interesting, because I ended up trying cereal and instead o milk or yogurt, with hot chocolate. It was actually decent if you believe me or not. It erminded me of the scripture in 3 Nephi 12 or 13 that talks abot how God feeds the birds and clothes the feild lilies, and if He does that, He wil defeinitely feed and clothe s, if we are not of little faith. I read that this week and felt so freakign grateful for all that He was doing and how aware He is of us.

Also this week, it poured. It wasn't at the level of Georgia pouring, but yes, lots of rain and for like, five hours straight, which is a bunch becasue this is a desert and it rains like twice a year. But, all the streets flooded becasue they don't have a drainage system so we plodded through tiny rivers all of Sunday morning befoer church, waking everyone up and helping people so they could get to church on time. ANd when we got to church, we were absolutely SOAKED. I had on my rain jacket, but my dress was so wet that the water climbed up the fabric and everything was damp and all fo the members started to get after us when got to church because we were goignto get sick (we had already caught colds like five days before so it didn't realy matter) but in spite of all the rain, several peopel were ale to ge tochurch and enjoy the new two hours (which was super awesoem by the way) and I was super happy becasue the spouse of one of the members came to church! WE hadn't been able to pas by theis past week to invte him, and he had told us when we called that it was raining and it was cold and well, no he wasn't goign to come. Adn then we got to church, and we just barely had timeto take seats before it started and we looked around and there he was! Sitting in the bench in front of us with his family! The Sister told us later that he had driven them there but only yot srop them off, but hwen they got to the chapel, he turned off the car, got out, and siad that he was going to attend the meeting.

I seriously love the Lord, and the way HE works and I know He is very aware of our needs, because we are Hi children nad HE loves us.

Conmi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

We took a picture after realizing that we had no photos taken this past wek to send to y'all lol

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
