Goodbye Balderrama

Hola Everyone!

Transfer day has come, and I have been transfered to an area called Pueblitos in the North of Hermosillo with my first ever American companoin (what?). Her name is Hermana Lewis from St. George Utah and we're goign to walk until our feet bleed because we're whitewashing an area that's ridiculously big, but we're goign to find a bunch of people to teach, so everything's all good.

This past week in Balderrama was awesome! We were able to see several great miracles, including the baptism of Mayra. Mayra is the daughter of member who used to go wth her mom to church when her mother was investigating the church, but at 16 left the house a struck out on her own, and now, six years later, was so ready to enter into a coveneat with our father. I think in all of the baptsimal servicesx I have been in here in Mexico, this has been one of the sweetest. It was so great because its was apparent that Mayra was doing it from the heart adb becasue she really loved the Lord and wanted to show her repentance. I have grown such a love for her as I have watched her grow and progress and also as we have gone through great lengths to teach her becasue she lives at the other end of the area than we live and works two jobs and has open enrollment high school ad so the only tiem she can meet with us is at 8:30 at night which gave us just enough time to sing a hymn, say the prayer, see how she was doing, and then teach soemthign super simplified and direct, have a closing prayer and then RUN to out house to get home at like 9:25 (we have to be home at 9:30).

Another miracle's name is Omar. We found him when a member wrote her friend's direction wrong when giving us a reference. WE knocked on the door, realized it was not the right house, but began to talk to them aboutt he Gospel and Omar was so eager to learn. He's had rough past, but has left all of the vices behind about a year ago to be able to be a worthy and dependable father and he is so ready to enter the baptismal waters that the first tiem we met him, we frightened the member family accompanying us in extendign the baptsimal invitation, but honestly he is so eager to repent I don-t think I've seen anyone so excited about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, whic has been a testimony and a reminder to me of jsut how important Jesus Chirst and His Atonign Sacrafice are in my life and the life of every human being who has ever lives and will ever live.

I solemly testify that Jesus Chirst DID in fact, atone for our sisns. He sweat drops of bools from every pore because of the agonizing pain and suffereing, but HE did it beacuse He loves us and becasue HE was the only person capable to pay the price for our sins beause He lived a perfect and sinless life, not so that we canb go about sinning, but so that we have the possibily to be sinnless too, through Him. I love my Savior and Redeemer and I want to serve Him with all my heart. I know I am not perfect, nor will I ever be perfect in this life, but I know that I will be perfect one day and in that Day I will stand befpre my Lord and my God and He will say to me, "well doen thou good and faithful servant." and He will welcome me back home to His presence.

I love you all and I want all men everywhere to be able to p[artake in His redeeming love, including each and every one of you.

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
