Working hard in my new Area

Hi Everyone,

So as predicted, I have learned somethign fascinating this week, that is completely possible to be on your feet all day, without sitting for basically any reason. I'm kidding, we were able to sit down and teach, but yes, it's been a lot of contacting and learnign the area. I have become a master at usign our six page map to figure out where the hec we are and how to get to the next place, which has been good for me be able to visualize and memorize the area.

As we've been meeting lots of new peopel this past week, it's been interstign to ask the Lord for help in findign the peopel that HE is preparing here in this area, and we had a super cool experience with that on Friday. We had been looking more than anythgin, for families to teach, and so we had been praying all week for a family of 5, with 2 sons, and 1 daughter who were ready to hear the Gospel, who want to go to chuirch and were ready to make covenants with God, but we stil hadn't found anyone, and it was Friday about midday (which is often not the best hour to meet peopel because all of them are cooking the midday meal or gettign kidas form school) and all our appointments had fallen through for the next hour or so, so we did the obvious and decided to start meetign people, but started with a prayer, asking that Heavenly Father would guide us. Rught befoer we prayed, A conversation I had recently had iwth Hermana Rubio and Hermana Gonzalez came to my mind, as we had discussed miracles and rightous desires in the mission field where, in companionship exchanges with a new misionery, she had asked not jsut for the specific family she wanted to find, but also the house they would be in. So, we decide to try it out. I had never asked specifically for the kidn of house or antyghin like that before, jsut the family, and so we decided to ask for a yellow house with a black fence and a white door where thsi fmaily of 5 lived. We ended to prayer, rounded to corner, adn the secodn house on the bloxk was yellow. With a balck fence. with a with door. And we met the fmaily who was inside and it was the faily that we had been prayign for the entire wek, 2 soins, 1 daughter, a need for the Gospel, desirous to go to church, it was such a powerful and yet so simple testimony to me that when I alighj my will with God's if it's a righteuos desire, He will bless and answer me. I think more than anything what I've learned recently in the mssion is jsut how much the Lord is wil to answer and bless me when when I am specific and listening.

I love this work, and I love my Heavenly Father.

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

P.S. accidentally left the camera in the house soory for no fotos today

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
