Things are heating up :)

Hi everyone,

Like every week here's your weather report from Hermana Rawlings - the heat is finally coming here in the Sonoran sun. But more importantly, things are heating up in a more spiritual sense here in Pueblitos.

This week, we were able to witness the huge mircle of two teenaged sisters take upon themselves the name of Christ. The oldest sister, Keila, didn't believe in God when we met her. In fact, when we taught the first lesson with her, I remmeber very vividly Keila asking what proof there is that God exists. She's very smart, and I remember an email that JB had sent a long time ago, where he had explained how we can know if God exists comparing it to dark matter - or in other words, we know He exists by the effects His gospel has in our life. Honestly, I know that was the spirit that brought that to mind because there was no other way I would have remebered that email sent quite some time ago without help. That same lesson, Keila decided to do a type of science expirement and try out the Gospel. She has since gained a POWERFUL testimony of prayer and the Book of Mormon. She and Briseida go to mutual every Thursday, haven't missed a single Sunday at church, and have been trying to get to seminay at 5 in the monrning! There has been such a huge change wrought in both of them and in their family, that I cannot even express it sufficiently.

And this is the power of the GOspel of Jesus Christ. Through His Atonign sacrifice, He has given us the ability to change and become as new creatures, and to change even our very nature. I know that this gospel is true and that He loves us and wants us to becoem as He is.

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
