WOOOOOOOOOOOO

Hello All,
this week we were able to watch our friend Alvaro descend into the wtaers of Baptism.

Hi story is quite neat actually. We have an awesome woman we are teaching named Karina, if you will remember my emails from 2 months ago when I first got to Pueblitos she is the lady in the yellow house that we found and she´s been doing well but she doesn´t have a phone which makes her hard to contact sometimes. The day before we had not been able to get to her house at the appointed time and had therefore not been able to find her. The next day we went be her house twice, but she wasn't hoem either time. The seciodn time we3 passed by, we felt impressed to contact a few people in her street, (none of them who really wanted to listen to our message but were nice enought to let us talk to them at least) when a little kid approached us and asked for a pamlet fopr his dad. He and his dad had just passed by us, so we gave the kid a pamphlet, finished the contact the fastest and nicest way we could, and ran after this small family. And that is how we met Hermano Alvaro. Within the first five minutes of meetign him, we hd given him a pamplet of the Plan of Salvation, then followed by a pamplet about the The Gospel of Jesus Christ, and then followed quickly by a Book of Mormon.

He read until 1 Nephi 15 that first night. Two days later, even though we hadn't been able to find his house and properly teach him, he showed up to church, having already read the majority of 1 Nephi. He was so ready to be baptized, that just by reading the Book of Mormon, he began to obey commandments that we hadn't even taught him. The day of his baptism, in less than three weeks, he had reached Alma, and had already gained an incredibly powerful testimony of the truthfulness of the Restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ.

I know that the Book of Mormon IS the most correct book that we have, the best book we can read from to draw us closer to Christ. It is the keystone of our religion, and the most powerful way to KNOW thatJeus Chrit lives and is our Savior and Redeemer and also that Joseph Smith was and is a prophet called of God, to begein the restoration of His church upon the face of the Earth.

Con mi amor eterno,
Hermana Rawlings

Burning Spiritually and Physically!

Didn't you just LOVE conference? I feel like I have gotten much more out of General Coonference here in my time as a missionary. It's literally such a highlight and a spiritual fest. I think my favorite talks were from Jeffrey R. Holland, Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Russel M. Nelson, and actually, I can't choose, just all of them. I love what Elder Uchtdorf shared about how to share the gospel, step by step. I also love what was taught about the cvonnection between love and ministering, and I absolutely loved the emphasis on repentace and the Atoning power of Jesus Christ.  Thanks to the goodness of the Bishop, we actually had the opportunity to watch in English usign the computer in the Bishop's office and it was so great to hear the voices of the Apostles and The prophet. It's honestly just so much better when you can actually hear their voice with the intonation and all of that. An boy, was that fun. We might have taken over the office for a short while...
