Goodbye Balderrama

Hola Everyone!  Transfer day has come, and I have been transfered to an area called Pueblitos in the North of Hermosillo with my first ever American companoin (what?). Her name is Hermana Lewis from St. George Utah and we're goign to walk until our feet bleed because we're whitewashing an area that's ridiculously big, but we're goign to find a bunch of people to teach, so everything's all good. This past week in Balderrama was awesome! We were able to see several great miracles, including the baptism of Mayra. Mayra is the daughter of member who used to go wth her mom to church when her mother was investigating the church, but at 16 left the house a struck out on her own, and now, six years later, was so ready to enter into a coveneat with our father. I think in all of the baptsimal servicesx I have been in here in Mexico, this has been one of the sweetest. It was so great because its was apparent that Mayra was doing it from the heart adb becasue s...

Hey Y'all

So, this week has been fun.  First off, we were able to see a huge miracle this week - la Hermana Cuca descended into the waters of baptism! She's a sweet old lady who's friends with a member, and we've ben working with her for quite some time nad she's had thte desire to be baptized since basically the first week we tuaght her, ther's just been one problem this entire time. SHe has alzhiemer's, and she would forget every lesson her desire to follow Jesus Christ which has been a very iinterestign lesson in patience and Christ like love as we would teach her the way we would teach a smal child and then repeat the lesson the next visit. But every single thign we explained to her she accpeted and had the desire to learn and we couldn't just leav her alone becasuse lthough right now sh'es in this emntal state, she has other past sins and she needed baptism, so we talked to our leaders, talked to President, consulted with the Lord and finally came up...

And it's 2019. Terrifying.

So, fun fact, I read through the email I sent last week or the week before and realized how HORRIBLY typed it is, so I'm going to try to be better this week with spelling and all that jazz.  This week was fun. To answer your questions yes, I had to be home early for Año Nuevo, but only an hour early, not that bad, but as it was P-day it made it really awkward to teach a lot that day. But it was all good. We spent most of the night quickly puttign the finishing touches on a few thigns for the upcomign zone conference - one of which was a giant Book of Mormon that was filled with actual books of Mormon. (I don't have pictures, I'm sorry). And well, than we had Zone Conference an so we were only able to work again, like two hours which I was actually rather grateful for becasue the streets were filled with more parties and drinking than they were on New Year's Eve, so that was a tender mercy for me.  Honeslty, this week was full of tender mercies. Tons of sma...

FELIZ AÑO NUEVO

HAPPY NEW YEAR!  This Christmas was pretty awesome. We got to have a giant party with the two zones here in Hermosillo and the one in Guaymas and then it got lit becase I got to talk to you all! I love you guys so much! And thank you for reminding me that I still tlak way too much with my hands and that I have to translate thigns from spansih to engligh now and not the other way around.  Um, what else? This week was really interesting becasue everybodyu has fmaily in town and everyon'e on holiday break which means that there are a lot of fmaily who are at hoem right now, which is great to meet new peope and teach fmailies the Gospel of Jesus chrsit, but not so great becsue a lot of tiimes they don't want to tlak to you because they want preciosu fmaily time which is so hard to get these days, so it's been fun and we've had a good week, in spit o it all. Honestly, its been a good week.  Just really reakign cold!!! Like, walkign in the streets and I an...
