Things are heating up :)

Hi everyone,  Like every week here's your weather report from Hermana Rawlings - the heat is finally coming here in the Sonoran sun. But more importantly, things are heating up in a more spiritual sense here in Pueblitos.  This week, we were able to witness the huge mircle of two teenaged sisters take upon themselves the name of Christ. The oldest sister, Keila, didn't believe in God when we met her. In fact, when we taught the first lesson with her, I remmeber very vividly Keila asking what proof there is that God exists. She's very smart, and I remember an email that JB had sent a long time ago, where he had explained how we can know if God exists comparing it to dark matter - or in other words, we know He exists by the effects His gospel has in our life. Honestly, I know that was the spirit that brought that to mind because there was no other way I would have remebered that email sent quite some time ago without help. That same lesson, Keila decided to do a typ...

A Week that looked more like a Telanovela

So, we had a rollercoaster of a week! We are currently teaching a lovely family who are super awesome, but not married yet. The Spirit testified super hardf to them about the importance of fmaily, they were super down to get married, everythign was good, and then Satan happened. Just before bed time, we got a frantic call from the mother, who franticly started telling us all about the mess that Satan had caused, and that there was no way they were going to be able to get married and several other things. We went to her house the day after to help console her and figure out wht the heck was goign on with a huge prayer in our hearts, and literally all we could do was listen and then offer to call Preisethood holders to give her a blessing. She readily accepted, they gave a beasutiful blessign of comfort and strength and promised her that she would know what to do.  Two days later, we recieved a text message tellign her that she and the famther of this fmaily were fianlyl able to ...

Come Follow Me

As I have been studying Come, Follow Me these past weeks, I have definitely developed a love for the new program and also for the New Testament. It has been absolutely amazing beign able to more fullt apply the Savior's teachings in my life, and in particular this past week, I loved the part of the Bienadventuradaa and especially the distinction of poor in spirit as opposed to poor of spirit. As I was studying this past week I finalyl came to understadn that poor in spirit doesn't mean of weak faith, it means being humble. Those who are spiritually humble, who turst in the Lord and go about doing things quietly. I have developed a great love for those kind of peopel throughout the course of my mission. For example, there's a Sister here in Pueblitos who quietyl struggled for four years to be baptized because her husband did not permit her to attend church, not to mention talk to the missionaries. So she just quietly endured and kept at it until he let her go, but oly her, n...

The Priesthood of God is a real and true power

okay, let's see if i cna type out this story.  As far as we knew, Hermana Lewis was  not allergic to anything. WE literally had a conversation the day before talking about allergies and how she wasn't allergic to anything which I thought was crazy blessed. Turns out, she's allergic to SOMETHING. It was a normal day, we ate at our lunch appointment, super normal and typical food, but about an hour later, we teaching a recent convert, and the sister turned to my companion and goes, Äre you okay?" and I turned to my companion and she was RED, and just did not look good. So, she excused herselft to the bathroom, I gathered up the thigns because I wasn't exacty sure what was goign on or if we were goign to end the leson or anythgn, but I just felt tlike it wasn't goign to happen. My companion lef thte bathroom like two minutes later and was puffy, and the siter offered to take us to doctor and we gratefully accepted. We got in the car, the car stalled pull...
