So many miracles

I am so grateful to be here in Huatabampo becasue I have seriously seen so many miracles in this area. One of these miracles was to watch Hermano Servando be baptized. We have been teaching him for over 6 weeks, if you may recall from previous emails and he finally comitted and cam to church about three weeks ago. But we couldn't figure out what was holding him back from being baptized becasue after comng to church, he was really excited to go to church every single Sunday from here on out and he had made some friends in the rama, and he had left smoking behind. And we brought the branch president and secretary with us and I was just praying for the spirit to guide and help us and it did. Somehow, in the middle of the conversation, Servando was able to finally voice his only concern with beign baptized - that he would have to quit his job and leave his mom and serve a mission. Now this a concern that sounds reasnable until I tell tha he is a 44 year old man who already has childr...

Huatabampo Round Four

That's right y'all, I'm stayign in Huatabpamp for yet another transfer and get to be with Hermana Salas still!  It's beena good week here, if not a crazy one. I didn't think as a misionary I would travel so much in a week, but in this past week We've been to Navojoa twice, then we made a (slightly exaughsting) round trip to Hermosillo in a day and half with a sixish hour bus ride both ways. But we packed snacks and books and the bus played  Moana , so it was a good trip despite the length. ad this week, we gat to travel to Obregón because Elder Pingree, a member of the quorom of the seventy is goign to visit and so we're going out to Obregón to have giatn three zne conference! It's a lot of buses, but it's been super awesome. And I'm really excited to hear a member of the Seventy speak so I'll tell you ll about that next week.    Back to focusing on this past week, I have tryign to put even more in practice talking to everyone litera...

BUENAS TARDES SOLICITOS!

This week we have seen some pretty awesome miracles!  The inactive faily from thsi past week is progressing really well and came to church this past week too even thogh we couldn't visit them as much as we would have liked whci hwa super awesome. I also had a neat expereince teaching a man anamd Servando. We've been teachign him for a while and he has always had a (reasonable) excuse to not be able to coem to church and I finally said, okay last lesson and if he doens't commit to comign to church, we're going to have to stop visiting him , or a tleat not as frequently. We started tlakign about faith, and how its a word of action, not just a belief. Your beliefs lead you to ACT and not be acted upon and He didn't understnad that if he wasn't acting then he more or less for all intents and purposes didn't have faith. When we taiught him that and were slightly (very) direct abotu that, he looked at us and said, oay so I need to act and I thoght ok...

Creativity is a gift from God and Miracles abound

Hey all! So last week if you all remember, we had te privledge of having a branxh activity with Presidente Myers about the iron rodand it was super epic and super spiritual. This week we saw so many miracles that came from the spirit that touched the hearts of those who attended.  One is named Sergio. He started comign to church becasue of one the memebers saw him, though of her son who's serving a mission, and decided to more or less insist that he come to church. Well, he's come three times now and he came to the activity as well and absouluely LOVED it.when we wentt to visit him, he wasn't there, because he has foundtemporary work for that day and doesn't have a phone so he couldn't tell us, but we had the chance to meet the rest of his family amd his mom was very impressed with her son's determination to tgo to church. In fact, Sergio turned down a job offer and is looking for somethign that has sundays off so that he can continue to come. I know t...

La Barra de Hierro

Hey family!  How are you all? I'm sending you all my best wishes and my prayers.  This week we had a bucketload of conferences and interviews and intercambios, so I was basically not in Huatabampo for practically the entire week, but thrughout all of it I saw a lot of miracles this week.  First, although it's been... interesting? to make this change in mission and with al,l the difficulties that have come with mixign the two missions we have really been able to come together as a zone which is soemthign I wasn't expecting. And I have been learning, little by little, that when we have mercy towards others and as we keep our gaze fixed on the reason we are here serving - to invite others to come unto Christ - that we have been able to ingore others faults and disabiliies and become united in our purpose and our joy as we delcare glad tidings from the rooftops. I was really able to see that this past week in all of the juntas that we had and especially today, w...
